I created this website to help all individuals looking at taking the IELTS test prepare, practice, and improve their band scores. Throughout my career, I have helped students who have wanted to take IELTS in preparation for study in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States, as well as people who have wanted to emigrate to Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

My conversation skills have not always been my strongest attribute. In the past, I was too shy even to talk with a stranger!

However, after honing and practising my communication skills through travelling and doing volunteer work, and finally joining and then running a public speaking club, I became more confident and now speak in front of large groups of people without hesitation.

My experiences and growth in communication have given me more than just confidence; they made me extraordinarily patient and understanding of the fact that sometimes, it is difficult for a person to express themselves. My main goal in our tutoring sessions is that you are comfortable and calm. I believe I have a unique understanding that can help you turn into a confident English speaker, too.

In addition to perfecting my communication skills, I have worked in many roles; I retired from IT, then worked as an independent advocate for people in NHS hospitals, and finally, as an online English teacher specialising in IELTS. I have developed excellent analytical skills. These skills allow me to notice what needs to change about your English and give you high-quality feedback.

My students are busy people with careers who are studying English in their spare time. Because of this, I aim for them to work smarter, not harder. We will first analyse the mistakes you make most often together with what you are not doing now that you must be doing by the time of the exam to get a higher IELTS band score. Then, based on the gap between these two things and the time you have available for study, we will make a plan for you to achieve the band score you need.
